Fun in Ohio City! Shuffleboard, Go Media & Cleveland Blacksmithing
Go Media’s Open House & Fundraiser for the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning at Forest City Shuffleboard
I actually made it out to Cleveland on Friday night! God, I love Ohio City. Sometimes I wonder what on earth I’m doing out here in the country, but then I crack a cold one on my back patio overlooking our 2 acres and the pasture of horses across the creek and it all comes back to me… ?
What a great night though – I got to hang out with some old friends from Go Media at their open house, Creativity at Work 2018. It was held across the street at Forest City Shuffleboard, which was beyond cool. It was also a fundraiser for the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, so a very worthy excuse to go drink and have some fun. Go Media and Forest City Shuffleboard did an amazing job! Artists from all over had donated prints and posters for purchase, they had gift baskets from all the coolest Ohio City businesses to raffle off, a wine pull (what a great reason to buy a few bottles!), live music… they really put on a perfect event! I went by myself and only knew 3 people (all of whom were working most of the time) and I still had an amazing time; now that’s the sign of a good party and awesome hosts!
Then to top it off, I finally made it over to my brother’s new place 2 blocks over, Cleveland Blacksmithing, and got to catch the tail-end of his beginner’s class for that night. Shameless plug, if you’re interested in learning more about blacksmithing, Gavin teaches beginners courses, private sessions, and holds pay-what-you-can Bang & Bend sessions on some Friday nights. Check out his class schedule on his website, or just go look at all the great photos!
Speaking of photos… I got a few good ones while I was at Forest City Shuffleboard ?
